First Grade Families,
I hope that everyone had a great weekend! It’s hard to believe that we are about halfway through the first quarter. Here is what is coming up this week.
Please continue to practice phonogram cards 1-54

This week we will continue reading Owl at Home. We will also look at sentence structure, the meaning of "The Land of Nod" and continue memorizing our September poem The Pasture by Robert Frost.
We are continuing to work through addition problems. This week we will specifically be looking at how to solve addition problems by counting on and memorizing math facts. Please continue to work on math facts using numbers 1-10. In class, we will review all the strategies presented throughout this unit.
This week we will continue our unit on habitats. We will be exploring the Arctic Tundra habitat.
We will continue our unit on Ancient Egypt this week. We will be finishing our discussion of the Nile and start learning about the Pharaohs.
